Road to the Beaches

In late July, I drove along the Road to the Beaches to photograph the town of Salvage. I made a quick stop in Sandy Cove and Happy Adventure to make a few photographs.

The first image shows the entrance to a lookout over the shallow cove and sandy beach. The whale bones may be from a minke whale but I am not certain. The second photo was taken from the lookout and shows the beautiful beach which gives Sandy Cove its name. The third photo shows part of a small cove in Happy Adventure.

I have visited this part of Bonavista Bay several times over the years and would recommend a trip to the sandy beaches in Sandy Cove and Eastport to relax on a sunny day in summer. If you search this Blog for either of those towns you will find additional photos of the beaches.
