Burin Peninsula 20

Burin Peninsula 20

Along the main road in Burin we couldn't help but notice a bright, colourful building which we stopped to photograph. There wasn't much activity when we were there but it certainly was interesting. Appleby's Open Air Market seemed like it was a multi purpose building and has a fish market, antique shop, flea market and flower shop.

I did a search on line and found an article about this new facility - http://www.southerngazette.ca/Community/2011-07-26/article-2673188/Appleby%26rsquo%3Bs-Open-Air-Market-seeking-vendors/1. Interestingly, it is owned by the same person who placed the blue Volkswagen in the community. Apparently he offered space for vendors at no cost, but no one had taken advantage of it when we were there in mid-July.

Photos of the Day are for sale as stock photographs
and photographic enlargements.
They can also be purchased as slide shows
and/or wallpapers/screensavers.
