Boats and Stages 12

Boats and Stages 12

Thanks for the positive comments on the photos of boats in winter that I shared over the past couple of days. Today I am sharing images of dories, small, flat-bottomed boats that were used for fishing. Apparently the design is simple with high gunnels made from wide boards. They were designed to be rowed and could carry a lot of fish.

I have photographed dories all around Newfoundland and Labrador and at least one in Nova Scotia.
