Naples Zoo 4

Naples Zoo 4

This is the last of my Naples Zoo Series for now and you will see photos of trees. tigers and birds that I photographed before finishing my visit.

As I said in the beginning of this series, Naples Zoo is a fairly small zoo but it is interesting and worth the cost of admission.

Feel free to share with family and friends.

Naples Zoo 3

Naples Zoo 3

They have several types of monkeys at the Naples Zoo, but they weren't too active when we were there last February.  There are also several giraffes and I was able to capture a few images of these very tall animals.  Of course, there are many species of plants worth photographing as well.

Feel free to share with family and friends.

Naples Zoo 2

Naples Zoo 2

Like other places in Southwest Florida in February, there were many interesting plants and flowers.  There were also several species of birds in the park, most of them wild and free to come and go.  The barn owl was part of a show for visitors but the cormorants just dropped in to hunt for fish in the lake.

Naples Zoo

Naples Zoo

Today I am starting a NEW series showing photos taken in Naples Zoo, a small zoo located in Naples, Florida in February, 2014.  It was my second visit to this zoo and for the next couple of days I will share photos of plants and animals from there.

A couple of red-footed tortoises were crawling around their enclosure and I was able to get close views with my 70-300 mm lens.

The Patagonian cavy, a large herbivore, looks like a cross between a rabbit and a deer.

Feel free to share with family and friends.
