Another beautiful September Sunrise. I don't get an opportunity to shoot many sunrises because of the hills and forest behind my house in Holyrood. Occasionally I will walk a ways to get a better view, but this time of the year, the trees, shrubs and other plants are usually wet with dew so it isn't all that comfortable. This sky was so dramatic that I had to make a few images. I am glad I did!

Today's photos were taken the same day as the interesting clouds I shared yesterday. The high clouds took on a pinkish hue while those nearer the horizon were more orange.

I have been photographing clouds for many years and never tire of looking at them. Today's photos were taken late in the evening before sunset. I continued to make photos of the sky as the sun started to sink below the horizon.
Tomorrow I will share photos of the same sky as the clouds took on the beautiful colours of a dramatic sunset.
Feel free to share with family and friends.

Despite the weather this summer, there are lots of apples on our apple tree this year. There was a light frost on everything this morning which makes this particular variety of apple much sweeter. Usually after a frost, I pick enough apples for a few tasty apple pies. :)

Today's photos were taken in September, 2003 just outside my back door here in Holyrood. As you can see, the sky was amazing!
Once, while on a cruise in the Mediterranean, I was awaiting the sun to rise and a couple walked by and the husband said that they may as well go back to bed because there were clouds. After they left, the sunlight began to reflect off the clouds creating a beautiful sky. They didn't realize that it is the clouds that make the sky so colourful as the sun comes up.
